Following conference calls with state officials and the National Weather Service this afternoon, Sheriff P.J. Tanner will hold a press conference to address the public at 6:30 PM this evening. The press conference will be held at the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office headquarters building, Beaufort in the second floor training room this evening at 6:30 PM. The media, local government and elected officials are invited and encouraged to attend. The press conference will broadcast live on the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office website and the County Channel's YouTube page. Important to note, at 4:00 pm today the Hilton Head Regional Medical Center will be closing, to include the emergency room. The emergency rooms at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital and Coastal Carolina Medical Center plan to remain open. Sheriff's Office Emergency Management will continue to closely monitor the storm and conditions in Beaufort County. We will keep you updated.
