FLORIDA COUPLE THAT TAKES FURNITURE NEAR DUMPSTER COULD BE IN TROUBLE

Best Western could pursue legal action against a Florida (North Fort Myers) couple after they took wicker furniture that was by the dumpster. Corey Price and Tiffany Quinn were out to dinner in early May when they saw all of the wicker furniture by Best Western’s dumpster and thought it was up for grabs. The couple took it, fixed it up and resold it to someone on Facebook Marketplace for $200. Fast forward to June 18 when a sheriff deputy knocked on their door asking about some stolen furniture.

… Price told a local TV station: “I never tried to hide what I did, and at the first opportunity I spoke up and said yes I did take that.” Best Western staff said the wicker furniture was actually near their dumpster because it was in its maintenance area against an outbuilding. The hotel didn’t have cushions on the furniture at the time because they were reupholstering them and fixing them for it’s pool area. Best Western is trying to to settle this situation with the couple by having them just pay them back $200. If not, they might take the incident to court. Best Western said it has surveillance video of the couple taking the furniture. But the couple does not think they did anything wrong.
