Lawmakers in Washington, D.C. want you to think before you ink! A proposed new regulation would impose a 24-hour waiting period at tattoo and piercing parlors. That means artists would be required to make customers wait 24 hours in between requesting a service and receiving it. Similar waiting periods are already in place in a few other cities, and supposedly exist to prevent impulse tattoos and piercings that customers would later regret. But many tattoo artists find the regulations unreasonable. As anyone with a cartoon character or incorrectly-spelled word forever inked on their butt can attest, this rule isn’t such a bad idea.
