BELLE is a 7 year old beautiful Pitbull that was hit by a car.

We saved her from being euthanized. We took her into our care even with the prognosis that she would never be able to walk again using her back legs. Belle is a pain free, all happy small girl that gives smiles and kisses all day long. She is able to use all her legs but has a weak back so she should be the only animal in the household. She also gets along well with other larger senior dogs. She loves people and children. She is vaccinated, spayed, house- and crate trained, micro chipped, heartworm negative. Call 843.540.6755 for more info. Application and home check required. Adoption fee is $ 150. We adopt out of state and will help to work out transport possibilities.

JAVA is an 2 year old Pitbull that was picked up as a stray.

He was kept in an emaciated state for very long.  He is a beautiful, loving dog and is looking for a family, where he will be cherished and loved for the rest of his life. Java gets along well with other dogs and loves children and people. The children should be a little older because of his energy level. He is very energetic and needs lots of exercise. He would fit perfect in an active household and a home with a fenced in yard where he can play. JAVA is vaccinated, house- and crate trained, heartworm negative, micro chipped and spayed. For more info please call 843.540.6755 and visit http://noahs-arks.net.

READY FOR ADOPTION: Meet PRESLEY, 5 years old and RUSTY, 10 years old. They both are fabulous dogs and should be adopted together. Their previous owner was very sick and had left them outside in a pen without anyone checking on them. He had been dead for a while before someone noticed, they eventually saw the dogs outside. These innocent Sweethearts did not only loose their family, they also lost their home and all what they have now is each other. They are finishing up their heartworm treatment and then they are ready for their new forever family. After everything they went through they deserve nothing but the best. Both love people, children and other pets and are very attached to each other. Call 843.540.6755 for more info. Application and home check required. We adopt out of state. Adoption fee is reduced to $ 200 for both instead of $ 150 each. They both are house- and crate trained, vaccinated, micro chipped, neutered, heartworm negative. Thanks for caring and sharing.

Hello I am Rufus. I can't seem to catch a break. I thought I had my forever home a few months ago, but turns out I didn't. Landlord issues. Whatever that means. But I am a sweet bulldog who really deserves a good home. I am young, only a year and a half old, and have many years of companionship to offer you! For more information on me, please call 843-726-7799 or visit our website at www.JARMission.org.

 Looking for a German Shepherd?

This one could have been a show dog.  Now middle-aged, he is 7, Ripp has some medical issues; he is deaf and has some inner ear problems which need a vet, and he favors a back leg that shows signs of arthritis.  Ripp tested slightly positive for heartworms; so he is on a painless monthly treatment which should gradually clear him in less than a year.  You would never see him suffer; because Ripp loves people and other dogs, and he loves to socialize.  To see him run in the yard is truly a thing of beauty. Please call 843-726-7799 or visit our website at www.JARMision.org.

Harvey is a ten year old Golden Retriever whose owner brought him to a vet to be put to sleep claiming he was in pain, cried all the time and was unhealthy.

The vet had quite another opinion—seeing Harvey playing, happy, and not in discomfort. Harvey is overweight but his foster family is working on that. The original owner has surrendered Harvey and we are trying to find a place for him to spend his golden years. He loves chasing tennis balls and gives lots of kisses. If you have questions or want to know more please call Bob with Grateful Goldens in Savannah at 912.356.9188

PAWS of Effingham County

PAWS of Effingham County is a 501 (c)3, non-profit organization based in Effingham County, Georgia with volunteers throughout the Coastal Empire. PAWS is dedicated to saving animals and ensuring that they have a loving, healthy, happy place to live. PAWS works strictly off donations to support the rescue efforts. We hold regular adoption booths at both PetSmart in Savannah and Tractor Supply in Rincon.

Buddy the Bassett is between 6 and 8 months old. He was found on the side of the road and luckily rescued by a nice person who is now fostering him for PAWS (Effingham County) until we can find him a permanent home.  Buddy was recently neutered, is up to date on his shots and is on heartworm prevention.  Buddy is still very much a puppy and while he is a sweet, sweet boy he does need some training.  He will be a great family dog and would love nothing better than to have a home with a nice fenced yard and children to play with. If you would like to adopt Buddy, call the PAWS line at 912-754-6033. The adoption fee of $110 covers his shots and neuter.

Heinz 57 Puppies! These four pups were recently rescued by PAWS. They are six weeks of age and have been de-wormed with their first set of shots.  They are healthy and in need of a loving, forever home.  We are not sure of their parents but feel they will be anywhere between 15 and 30 lbs when grown as they are very tiny right now. The two brindle ones are boys and the little black pups are girls. The adoption fee of $110 covers the rest of their puppy shots, de-worming, and spay/neuter. If interested, call PAWS at 912-754-6033.

APOLLO--A SURVIVOR AND A LOVER (AND CUTE, TOO)

Meet Apollo – his name serves him well.  Apollo has overcome a lot at such an early age. After being born into poverty and abandoned he came to PAL with his littermates only to be stuck down with Parvo.  Surviving Parvo meant he was malnourished and his bones and muscles were growing awkwardly and in addition to that his skin started to fall off!  Through it all this little pit puppy wagged his tail and smiled.  Today he is strong and growing every day.  Apollo is a very dog social and loves his buddies here at the PAL Adoption Center but it is time for this little guy to go home while he is still young.  He is neutered and current on his vaccines and parasite control.  You can meet Apollo at the Adoption Center Monday through Saturday from 12pm to 7pm.  For more information call 843-645-1725 or email info@palmettoanimalleague.org.
